Please Remember Burning season HAS NOT started! Please be mindful that burning yard debris prior to the season beginning could result in a visit from the local fire department and possibly a fine.
Welcome to the new Country Woods Online Information Center Here you will find current news on what's going on in our community such as mosquito and gypsy moth spraying dates, road construction projects, items requiring home owners attention, (branches hanging over roads, etc.) warnings about issues at bus stops., and MORE!
HELP NEEDED? September brings thoughts of cool evenings and falling leaves. Some of the leaves on the trees in the Woods have already begun to turn and even fall. If you are unable to rake / clean leaves from your property this fall for whatever reason, please remember there are kids in the Woods who are always looking for ways to help out, and possibly earn some extra cash. Send an e-mail with "chores" or jobs you need help with to cwpoasecretary@yahoo.com and we will post them here. This is a great way for the young people in the neighborhood to help the "young at heart" as well as get to know their neighbors! In turn, if your kids are looking to do fall clean up in the neighborhood, please send their names to us so we can post them as well.
In an effort to consolidate garbage collection in the Woods (to save wear & tear on the roads) and to save the residents money, garbage collection companies were asked to submit their best rates possible for Country Woods. Waste Management came back with the best price at $17.37/month. An optional 96 gallon rolling trash can is an additional $1.00/month if desired. This price includes trash pick-up and recycling ONLY, no yard waste pick-up is included in this price. This would be a 3 year contract if chosen. Fees would increase no more than 6% for years 2 and 3. The only other charge would be a fuel surcharge, which is currently 11% and fluctuates based on current fuel prices. Waste Management bills it's customers on a quarterly basis. We want your feedback! Please click below to e-mail your preference and/or thoughts to: cwpoasecretary@yahoo.com |

MOSQUITO 4-1-1 * Mosquitoes have been around for over 100 million years and there are nearly 3,000 different species found around the world. * During warm summer months, a mosquito can develop from egg to adult in less than 10 days. PREVENTION * At least once or twice a week, empty water from flower pots, pet water bowls, birdbaths, swimming pool covers, buckets, barrels, cans and playground tire swings. * Clean out clogged gutters since the stagnant water can produce hundreds of mosquitoes each season. * Aerate ornamental pools or stock them with fish. Water gardens are fashionable but become major mosquito producers if they are allowed to stagnate. * Clean and chlorinate swimming pools that are not being used. A swimming pool that is left untended for a month can produce enough mosquitoes to result in neighborhood-wide complaints. Spraying in the Woods began in June. If you have questions regarding mosquito abatement, please contact Marmee Beyer.
Gypsy Moths..What to look for!

These are images of the various stages of the gypsy moth. Although the Woods will be sprayed, please keep a watchful eye out for any signs of these pests! Oak trees are one of the gypsy moth's more favorable trees to infest. These pests can destroy our beautiful Oak trees if not controlled.
